Presentation InformationAddressing Health Inequity in Behavioral Health Settings As we continue to grapple with the overwhelming aspects of an international pandemic, we have also seen an alarming increase in overdose deaths fueled by Fentanyl and rising stimulant-related overdoses. At the same time, people across our nation have taken to the streets, staff meetings and boardrooms to demand change around systemic racism and its devastating effects. Our behavioral health system is rife with less obvious but deeply insidious examples of inequities that significantly impact and hinder long-term recovery. Join us to explore addressing racial disparities and the associated stigmas that lead to poor behavioral health outcomes especially in the treatment of substance use disorders. This webinar will help ensure you have the tools to support all your clients and providers within a trauma-informed, resilience-oriented, and recovery-focused lens.
Telepsychiatry: Improving Access & Outcomes During the COVID-19 crisis, telepsychiatry has emerged as a powerful tool for increasing access to care throughout New Hampshire. The federal government and states have swiftly implemented regulatory changes to meet urgent needs during this public health crisis. We know that the ongoing changes can be overwhelming, and raise a lot of questions about what the future will look like after this 'new normal'. In this presentation, we will discuss the power of telemedicine in New Hampshire during COVID-19 and beyond. We will discuss how telepsychiatry continues to improve patient outcomes, augments programs to serve clinic needs, and improves access to care for individuals with mental health conditions. Topics include:
Substance Use in the Wake of COVID-19: Implications for Alcohol Misuse Across the Continuum The COVID-19 pandemic response has changed the way we live and work as well as access healthcare. These changes and the subsequent “new normal” ahead will have long-standing impacts on the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs. This includes new social norms and the impact across the continuum. Also discussed will be emerging trends including new tools and resources.
Tools to Address Brain Injury After Opioid Overdose In this presentation, Dr. Carolyn Lemsky will provide an overview of brain injury that results from opioid overdose, screening questions that are available, and promising interventions for individuals with co-occurring brain injury and opioid use disorder. This presentation will review:
